Six States Contribute Largely Towards Corporate Software Piracy In The US

California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois and Michigan are largely using pirated corporate software contributing towards 49.3% of corporate software piracy in the US. This is revealed through a recent analysis conducted by the Business Software Alliance (BSA) for 2010.

BSA conducted the analysis on receiving tips from IT personnel and other knowledgeable sources from all fifty states of the US. They suspect that companies in these states are using unlicensed corporate software. The tips appeared on BSA's online reporting form, www.nopiracy.org, and its anti-piracy hotline, 1-888-NO-PIRACY.

To curb corporate software piracy, BSA is offering companies a modern training course and certification program called SAM Advantage. This will educate them on ways to avoid corporate software piracy by better management of their software tools as strategic assets. The course also helps companies to understand how to capture greater business value from their software assets, while increasing efficiency and evading security risks and legal jeopardy.
